Prince Harry and Meghan’s children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet’s FAKE Christmas card goes VIRAL….See More
The internet can often be a tricky place, especially for children. Recently, a fake AI-generated Christmas card featuring Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, has gone viral on social media. This sparked outrage among fans who quickly recognised that the images were not real and called for its removal.
The controversial Christmas card surfaced on X (formerly Twitter) last week and quickly gained attention. It depicted Prince Archie, aged five, and Princess Lilibet, aged three, standing side by side against a green backdrop adorned with festive branches. However, the card was clearly fabricated as there are no public images of the two children together. The text on the card read, “Merry Christmas & Happy New Year,” signed off as “from Prince Archie & Princess Lilibet”.
As soon as the card was posted, eagle-eyed users began to point out its flaws. Many commenters noted the poor quality of the editing, describing it as “sloppy.” One user remarked, “Crap photoshop… trouser seam isn’t joined together,” while another asserted, “That is NOT Archie! That’s AI”. The reactions ranged from disbelief to outright laughter at the audacity of the fake image. Comments such as “Pathetic fakery” and “Completely fake” made across social media platforms.
The AI-generated image was not just criticized for its lack of authenticity but also for its unsettling appearance. Some users also described it as ‘creepy,’ with one commenting on how it exemplified a significant issue in today’s world. A user also noted, “I think this is a royally teachable moment to remind everyone not to believe everything you see on social media”.
The Sussexes’ official Christmas card for 2024
In contrast to the fake card, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle had shared their genuine Christmas card in December 2024, ahead of the holiday season. This official card included a rare photo of their children and conveyed warm holiday wishes from the couple’s office. They wrote: “On behalf of the office of Prince Harry & Meghan, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Archewell Productions and Archewell Foundation, we wish you a very happy holiday season and a joyful new year”. Their real card featured six images showcasing various moments from their lives.
