The mother of two had a very special reveal for fans to start off 2025

Meghan Markle is possibly starting off 2025 with a major change, as the 43-year-old seemingly returned to Instagram with a new account.

An account with the username @meghan posted a video of the mother of two on the beach in what looks to be a personal clip, possibly filmed by her husband, Prince Harry. There was no caption attached to the video.

On Jan. 1, the account posted a peaceful video of Markle running on a beach. She then bent over and wrote “2025” in the sand with her pointer finger. The video ended with a pan of the ocean before Markle ran across the screen with a smile and a little laugh.

Based on the perspective of the never-before-seen clip, it seems likely that this is a real account run by Markle, but there has been no official statement from the couple confirming its authenticity.

According to USA Today, a source the publication spoke with who is “familiar with the situation but not authorized to speak publicly” said that the account is Markle’s, adding that the account “will demonstrate how social media can bring joy and positive connection.”

If it’s confirmed to belong to Markle, as several outlets have reported, it wouldn’t be too surprising of a move as not too long ago, she launched a business account for her American Riviera Orchard brand.

Harry doesn’t have a personal Instagram account, and while the two previously shared updates on the Sussex Royal account, they stopped posting on it in early 2020 as Harry and Markle took a step back from royal duties.

Back in 2018, Markle stopped using her personal social media accounts following her engagement to Harry, with a statement shared by Kensington Palace saying, “Ms. Markle is grateful to everyone who has followed her social media accounts over the years, however, as she has not used them for some time she has taken the decision to close them.”
