Breaking News: Prince William Shares the Christmas Tradition He Skips Every Year…..Read More
Tis the season of twinkling lights, cozy nights and beloved holiday traditions like decorating, gift-giving and sharing festive meals. Even the royal family gets in on the fun—well, mostly. Turns out, there’s one tradition Prince William doesn’t partake in.
During a festive visit to Wiltshire on Tuesday, December 10, the Prince of Wales joined a Christmas party for the 1st Battalion Mercian Regiment, handing out gifts to children and families. While mingling with attendees, the subject of holiday sweaters (or “jumpers” as the Brits call them) came up—and that’s when the royal dropped his surprising confession.
According to Hello! Magazine, when a teen mentioned he was wearing two Christmas jumpers, Prince William pointed to himself and joked, “Some people don’t even own one.” Yup, it turns out the Prince of Wales isn’t on Team Christmas sweater.
When pressed for more details, Prince William playfully deflected the blame to his new equerry, Squadron Leader Mike Reynolds, pointing across the room and quipping, “I didn’t know, you see that guy in the jacket, it’s his fault, and I will be having a word.”
But while the prince might be skipping the sweater game, he’s definitely not skimping on family time. William revealed he’s looking forward to celebrating Christmas with 45 family members under one roof this year—though they’re “normally spread out.”
As for where the royals will gather? Royal insiders say King Charles is set to honor the late Queen Elizabeth’s tradition of hosting Christmas at Sandringham in Norfolk. And while William might leave his Christmas jumper at home, one thing’s for sure: there will be no shortage of festive spirit at this royal holiday bash.
